The International Tax Justice Academy (ITJA) is a week-long capacity building programme set in 2016. ITJA offers skills for sustained advocacy, dialogue and debate through courses on IFFs, tax governance and domestic resource mobilization in Africa, informed by research and inclusive of a variety of voices. TJNA’s four key thematic areas are an important framework guiding the agenda.
The Youth for Tax Justice movement, formed after the 2017 edition and the Inter University Tax Justice Network Forum are some initiatives born out of the Academy which brings together the widest variety of tax justice stakeholders including CSOs, trade unions, media, and academia.
